With 89% of Pinellas County Schools earning A and B ratings—and the district earning an A rating for two consecutive years—families can feel confident their children have access to a high-quality education.

From strong neighborhood schools to nearly 90 District Application Programs, Pinellas County Schools offers pathways that help every child thrive.

Magnet Programs in Pinellas County

The programs are perfect for students who enjoy diving deeply into specific themes or subjects. Options include STEM, the arts, international studies, communications, environmental science and more.

Programs feature hands-on, engaging experiences that build curiosity and confidence. Some are open districtwide, while others serve designated application areas.

Fundamental Programs

These programs offer a structured, traditional learning environment built on consistency, clear expectations and strong family involvement.

Many programs include dress codes and emphasize responsibility and respect—an approach that helps students build positive habits and stay focused on learning.

Explore Pinellas County Schools

Across the county—from St. Petersburg to Tarpon Springs—families can explore 26 elementary magnet and fundamental programs. Themes range from Arts and Gifted Studies to Science and Engineering, International Studies, Health and Wellness Leadership and Dual Language Immersion at Bardmoor and Garrison-Jones elementary schools.

As students enter 52 middle and high schools, even more choices become available. Middle school programs help students develop new interests in areas such as Health and Wellness, Dual Language Immersion, the Arts, Communications and Multimedia Journalism, Gifted Studies, International Studies and STEM.

Every high school in Pinellas County offers at least one magnet or fundamental program.

High school themes include Architecture and Construction, Digital and Performing Arts, Automotive and Marine Technology, Business and Finance, Culinary Arts, Education and Leadership, Public Safety and Law, STEM pathways, Wellness and Medical Professions and globally recognized International Baccalaureate and Cambridge AICE programs.

These programs provide advanced coursework, hands-on learning and real-world industry connections that prepare students for college and future careers.

Neighborhood schools also remain an excellent choice for many families. They offer strong academics, diverse extracurricular opportunities, and the convenience of a community-based setting supported by dedicated teachers and staff.

Registration for the 2026–27 school year opens Jan. 5, 2026. Families can apply for Magnet and Fundamental programs from Jan. 6 through 5 p.m. on Jan. 16.
