As summer winds down, a brand-new season of connection, creativity and fun begins at the Marcia P. Hoffman School of the Arts at Ruth Eckerd Hall. This fall’s exciting semester features a wide variety of arts education classes in every artistic genre available to students ages 5 and up.

From musical theater to jazz, there’s a class for everyone to learn new skills, make friends and grow as an artist guided by talented staff and professional art teachers. Classes start on September 8. Registration is open now – don’t wait!

Fall Class Spotlight

Broadway Bound I (Grades 1–3):

Students will learn the basics of acting, movement and dance for the stage.

Broadway Bound II (Grades 4–5):

Students will continue to build on acting basics, where they will focus on the art of storytelling and character development.

Raymond James Presents: Middle School Arts! Broadway Bound III (Grades 6–8):

Students will study short scenes from published works furthering their acting skills and the ability to analyze plays for truer performances.

Stage Acting (Grades 9–12):

Through critical examination of theatrical moments, high school students will learn to select the best acting choices possible for higher-level performance.

Ruth Eckerd Hall Chorus (Ages 18+):

Ruth Eckerd Hall Chorus welcomes singers of all experience levels to join and celebrate the joy of music by singing together! The Chorus performs regularly throughout the Tampa Bay area and beyond.

Jazz Night: Big Band I & II (Ages 14–19):

Jazz Night is perfect for dedicated students interested in taking their love of this extraordinary genre to the next level. The history and development of jazz music is explored, along with theory and improvisation skill-building. Auditions are required, so make sure to call 727-712-2706 to schedule yours!

Celebrate The Season

Save the date and gather your family and friends! Select classes will participate in a magical Holiday Celebration on Saturday, December 13 at 5 pm in the Murray Theatre at Ruth Eckerd Hall.

Students in the Ruth Eckerd Hall Chorus, Broadway Bound 1 – III, and Stage Acting classes will work together to showcase the incredible work they’ve accomplished throughout the semester. Celebrate the holiday season with heartwarming performances, joyful songs and plenty of cheer! Tickets will go on sale soon.

Arts Education For Everyone

The Marcia P. Hoffman School of The Arts believes that everyone should have access to arts education and that no child should be denied an arts education because of financial need. Through the support of individuals and corporations, tuition assistance is available to anyone who wishes to study at the Marcia P. Hoffman School of the Arts.
