Family-Friendly Earth Day Events in Tampa Bay
Earth Day takes place on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, and is a day when we celebrate our planet and learn how to make it a better place.
In addition to learning the different ways we can show Mother Earth some love at home, several events around town showcase how we can help our planet and also have fun. Check out our list of Earth Day events around Tampa Bay that the whole family can enjoy!

Earth Day Events in Tampa
Sea Turtle Awareness Day
- Date: April 4, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Location: Clearwater Marine Aquarium
CMA will host more than a dozen sea turtle conservation partners who will share information about how to help protect sea turtles and their habitats. You can also help paint nest stakes and custom Protect the Nest plaques as the aquarium’s Sea Turtle Conservation Program prepares for nesting season on May 1. CMA is also hosting its 2nd annual Sea Turtle Virtual 5K Race, which participants can complete at their leisure for a uniquely designed medal.
ZooTampa Party for the Planet

Join the education team in Manatee Circle to celebrate Earth Day with a Party for the Planet! Travel around the world (and the zoo) to find out how animals help Planet Earth and how you can too!
City of Tampa Earth Fair
- Date: April 19, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Location: Al Lopez Park
Families can explore hands-on activities, educational sessions, live demonstrations, interactive art installations, live music, food trucks, plant, tree and compost giveaways and more, all hosted by City departments and sustainable community partners.
Earth Day Cleanup at AJ Palonis Jr Park
- Date: Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at 9 am
- Location: AJ Palonis Jr. Park, Tampa
Celebrate Earth Day by making a difference in your community! Enjoy a morning of environmental stewardship as we work together to remove litter and debris from AJ Palonis Jr. Park. Your efforts will help protect local wildlife, keep our waterways clean, and preserve Tampa Bay’s natural beauty.
Franklin Street Block Party

- Location: Tampa Theatre
Enjoy Earth Day with this family-friendly free celebration featuring live music, short film screenings, appearances by characters from The Florida Aquarium, food trucks, vendors, and more!

6th Annual St. Pete Earth Day
- Date: Saturday, April 25, 2026, 9 am-1 pm
- Location: 1664 12th St. South, St. Petersburg
This free family event will feature live music, a sound bath vendors, art and games, a sourdough bread workshop, live music, and more!
EcoFest 2026
- Date: Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Location: Learning Gate Community School, Lutz
Join Learning Gate Community School to celebrate the organizations and individuals in the Tampa Bay area dedicated to the principles of sustainability, ecology, equity and economy. Enjoy live music, demonstrations, green living products, local artists, organic farm products and more!
Tampa Heights Garden-to-Kitchen Family Experience: Earth Day Special
- Date: Saturday, April 25, 2026, 10 am-12 pm
- Location: Tampa Heights Community Garden, Tampa
Celebrate Earth Day with a hands on experience exploring the connection between food, health, and the environment. Guests will enjoy a live cooking demonstration from Chef John Smith while discovering practical ways to implement healthier habbits.
Manatee Conservation Celebration
- Date: May 2, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Location: ZooTampa
ZooTampa will host its first-ever Manatee Conservation Celebration, a special event dedicated to raising awareness and support for Florida’s iconic sea cows. There will be kid-friendly activities, interactive presentations, local vendors and live music. The event also features exclusive behind-the-scenes tours of the Zoo’s new Manatee Rescue and world-renowned ZooTampa David A. Straz, Jr. Manatee Critical Care Center.
