Gasparilla Music Festival

How to plan your best day ever at the Gasparilla Music Festival 2026!

The Gasparilla Music Festival returns for a two-day celebration in a new location from April 10-12, 2026! This family-friendly event is a weekend filled with amazing live music, local dining, and so much more.

As we recommend every year, bring the kids for a music festival experience during the day and then return later in the evening while the kids enjoy the night with a babysitter! This event is one of our favorite things to do to close out Gasparilla season!

To help you navigate your day, we're dishing on all the details, including the festival's origins, the concert line-up, and more. So, let's get to it, friends!

What is Gasparilla Music Festival?

The annual music fest is put on by the Gasparilla Music Foundation, a Florida 501(c)-3 non-profit corporation that supports music education through its Recycled Tunes program. The mission of Recycled Tunes is to enrich the lives of underserved and impoverished children in Tampa Bay by ensuring access to musical instruments. They also give students performance opportunities on the festival stages in front of large crowds.

Pro Tips for Families: How to Plan a Great Day at GMF

A few minutes of planning can make a big difference when it comes to bringing the kiddos to a big event like GMF. Here are some tried and tested tips that my family depends on when we plan an outing like this.

  • Make a game plan in advance so you know exactly where you’re going to park and how long you’re going to stay, and have a Plan B for parking.
  • Check for restrictions on strollers or wagons, chairs, blankets, umbrellas and for food/beverages.
    • GMF does allow strollers and wagons, as well as low-backed chairs and blankets.
    • Sealed water (up to 1 liter) and empty reusable, non-glass containers are permitted, but outside food is not (our snacks for the kids have never been confiscated).
  • Set expectations for yourself and for your family to ensure maximum enjoyment for all. You’re probably not going to get to see all 5 bands that you want to see; pick 1-2 favorites so that anything else is a bonus. It’s also super important to explain the game plan in an age-appropriate way so you and the kiddos can be on the same page.
  • Bring sunscreen, hats and ear protection! We used noise-cancelling headphones from Amazon, made for babies, with thick elastic straps secured with Velcro, which worked nicely. We always bring a blanket and a stroller fan as well.
  • Dress appropriately for porta-potties since you will likely be in one with your child several times (consider getting V.I.P. tickets, which usually include access to air-conditioned bathrooms).
