Summer at the Y for Preschoolers is a great choice for parents to let their children grow, learn and laugh all summer long!

Growing, Learning & Laughing: Summer at the Y for Preschoolers!

Summer is a time for exploration, imagination and new experiences, even for the youngest members of the family. This year, the Tampa Metropolitan Area YMCA is offering an exciting opportunity for children ages 2 to 5 to learn, grow and play through its engaging Preschool Summer Enrichment Program.

YMCA Preschool Summer Enrichment Program

Running from June 1 through August 7, 2026, the program aligns with summer camp dates for older children, making it convenient for families with kids in multiple age groups. Camps will be hosted at the Central City Family YMCA in Tampa Heights and at Camp Sierra in North Tampa, giving families accessible options in our area.

“Join us for a fun-filled summer of learning! Our Preschool Summer Enrichment Program offers a nurturing, engaging environment where children explore exciting weekly themes through hands-on activities, creative arts, outdoor play and early learning experiences,” says Sarah Hays, Senior Vice President Operations, Tampa Metropolitan Area YMCA.

The program is thoughtfully designed for preschool-aged children, with an emphasis on sparking curiosity while supporting social, emotional and cognitive growth. Creativity is woven into the daily schedule through activities like arts and crafts, imaginative play and outdoor exploration. The curriculum encourages children to develop problem-solving skills and express themselves in meaningful ways. Through these experiences, the program creates opportunities for exploration while inspiring children to discover new interests and talents.

Staying active is another major focus. Physical activity is built into each day through sports experiences, games and outdoor play. These activities not only help children burn energy but also support motor skill development and healthy habits that can last a lifetime.

Parents will also appreciate the nurturing environment created by the YMCA’s experienced staff. Trained educators and caregivers provide a safe, supportive atmosphere where children feel comfortable trying new things, building independence and forming meaningful connections. The children will also benefit from the program’s emphasis on social development. Through group activities, communication and cooperation, skills will be learned that help prepare them for kindergarten success.

To participate, children must have an updated physical and current immunization record on file, and those ages 3 to 5 must be potty trained.

Registration for Summer 2026 is now open! Spots are limited so it is recommended to sign up early. Visit  Preschool Summer Enrichment | Tampa Metropolitan Area YMCA for more information or to register.

The Tampa YMCA does not turn anyone away due to financial hardship. Financial assistance is available, and community members are encouraged to donate to help send a child to camp.
