Our Journey

Tampa Bay Parenting was founded in 2007 by parenting advocate Angela Ardolino, with a mission to empower local families. In 2014, the company restructured from Tampa Bay Parenting Inc. to Media-AMJ, LLC, operating under the trade name Hooray Media, setting the stage for expansion. Since 2016, under the leadership of Laura Byrne, our Creative Director and Managing Editor, we’ve doubled our revenue and content, earned multiple Florida Magazine Association Charlie Awards for journalistic excellence, and solidified our role as a community cornerstone. From hosting the annual Back to School Fair with partners like Hillsborough County Public Schools to serving families across the Tampa Bay region, we’re proud to be a vital part of this vibrant area.

Meet Laura Byrne

Laura Byrne, an award-winning journalist with over 15 years in Florida newsrooms (Sarasota, Tallahassee, Fort Myers, and Tampa Bay), steers Tampa Bay Parenting with expertise and heart. A Florida State University graduate, she’s reported for outlets like WTSP-TV and WINK News, and still freelances in Tampa Bay’s media scene. As a mom to two boys and wife to her “most amazing dude ever,” Laura brings a relatable, grounded perspective to our pages. Her leadership extends beyond the magazine—she’s served on the Hillsborough County Anti-Bullying Advisory Committee, Juvenile Justice Advisory Board, and Leadership Hillsborough, earning her a reputation as a trusted voice in our community.
