A Parent’s Guide to Brick-or-Treat at LEGOLAND Florida 2024
Brick-or-Treat Monster Party is back at LEGOLAND® Florida Resort, and we were invited to experience opening day this year to see what’s new to help you plan an awesome day with your kiddos.
We’ve attended Brick-or-Treat with our kids for several years now, and it still tops our list of favorite Halloween events in Tampa Bay! From event-exclusive LEGO® character meet-and-greets to an ALL-NEW Monster Skytacular, it’s a not-to-miss Halloween celebration and best of all… it’s included with park admission.

So, let’s dive in, friends!
First, when is Brick-or-Treat?
Brick-or-Treat is being celebrated on select Saturdays in September and then on Saturdays and Sundays in October. The exact dates are September 14, 21, & 28 and October 5-6, 12-13, 19-20, 26-27.
While you can arrive early when the park opens at 10 am, most of the Brick-or-Treat activities don’t start until about 11 am. The trick-or-treating booths are open from 2 pm to 7 pm. We arrived around 3 pm and still had time to visit with a few characters and build in several build zones before the new drone show. (Since we were annual pass holders for several years in the past, we didn’t do rides on this trip and focused mostly on the Brick-or-Treat activities and building in the build zones throughout the park.)
But this is a good indication that you can still run a few errands in the morning and then head to the park to enjoy the rest of your day as a family!
When you arrive, be sure to grab your Brick-or-Treat event map! When you open it, you’ll see that the six realms of the park have been transformed under new names as part of Monster Party! As I mention where to find certain characters and other activities, I’ll put the actual name of the realm in parentheses to help you plan.
Our Favorite Things at Brick-or-Treat Monster Party 2024
We are big LEGO fans, and one of our favorite things about Brick-or-Treat is the event-exclusive characters! They only come out once a year, and we counted at least 11 characters this year. One of our favorites was the LEGO Monster Rocker meet-and-greet, which is indoors next to Heartlake Hall. When you walk in, you get to pick a song to dance to with the Monster Rocker before snapping a picture. We picked “Monster Mash”! (Photo at the top of this story.)
Awesome LEGO character meet-and-greets at Brick-or-Treat in 2024 and where/when to find them:
There are several event-exclusive LEGO characters to meet throughout the day! You can easily snap photos with several as the times are all staggered. Keep in mind that the characters tend to be at the location for about 20 minutes, so try to arrive on time. The lines don’t get too long and move pretty quickly in our experience over the years.
- LEGO Zombie Pirate in Shipwreck Alley (Pirate’s Cove): 12:30 pm, 1:30 pm, 2:30 pm
- LEGO Shark Suit Guy in Shipwreck Alley (Pirate’s Cove): 4:30 pm, 5:30 pm, 6:30 pm

The LEGO Builds
As I mentioned, we’re big LEGO fans, so my boys like to spend a lot of time in the build zones, including the new LEGO Ferrari Build & Race Experience! This is also a nice break from the heat and humidity since the multiple build zones are indoors.
There are three themed build areas to experience this year, including the NEW LEGO Pumpkin Build in MINILAND, USA! Look for the table set up and get to work building your own pumpkin, which is then placed in a LEGO pumpkin patch along the walkway to the Pirate’s Cove area.
There are also two superbrick build areas where you can help build a superbrick, which will become a part of a larger LEGO sculpture in the park. It’s pretty cool to watch it grow throughout the month as more guests add their superbricks to the sculptures!
- Cobra Superbrick Build in Land of Adventure from 12:30 pm-5:30 pm
- Scarecrow Superbrick Build in DUPLO Valley from 11:00 am-5:30 pm
Since we are on the topic of building with LEGO, it’s a good transition into our next favorite thing…
Looking for Halloween additions in MINILAND USA
This is almost like a scavenger hunt! LEGO Master Model Builders at the park have added a ton of Halloween twists to MINILAND, so pretty obvious and others you’ll have to search for.
We caught up with one of the master builders, David Hilliard, and asked him about a few of the Easter eggs they’ve placed in MINILAND, “We do have some monsters doing the Monster Mash. We have a group of mummies that confused Vegas with ancient Egypt, so ‘Walk like an Egyptian’ if you will, and a few others, such as a Mad Scientist who is trying to use the technology of NASA to bring his Frankenstein to life.”
We asked Hilliard about the process they go through when creating these fun LEGO builds for events like Brick-or-Treat and he told us, “Once we get ideas, we start prototyping, designing either on the computer or we’ll just do what kids do at home and grab a bunch of LEGO and start building. And then, once we get some ideas, we get approval if there’s anything we have to run by our bosses, then we begin the building process. We do like to add a few new things every year because we know we have returning guests.”
You’ll find the new Giant Jack-o-Lantern at the entrance of the park as a step-in photo op. It’s pretty cool! He tells us they are also working on even more new additions, so be on the lookout!

Trick-or-Treating and Treats at Brick-or-Treat
There are some event-exclusive treats to purchase, and our family favorites were the Scarecrow’s Caramel Crunch from Granny’s Apple Fries and the Potion #9 Shake from Kingdom Cones. Almost all treats are shareable, especially the Monster Dog from Dragon’s Den, which can feed a family of four!
There are also seven trick-or-treat stations that are open from 2 pm to 7 pm. There are bags you can use for trick-or-treating if you forget your own.
Last but not least…. the shows, including the NEW Drone Show: Monster Skytacular
We’re ending with this since it’s how we ended our day at Brick-or-Treat! We weren’t sure what to expect since we’d never seen a drone show mixed with fireworks, but they did it, and it really was spectacular! The kids loved it.
There are 500 drones in all! For the best view of the show, find a seat in the grassy area next to Pirate’s Cove. The show starts once the sun sets at about 7:45 pm.
Other live shows you can experience at Brick-or-Treat in 2024:
- Zombie Cheer Crew mear LEGOLAND Fun Town Theater: 11:45 am, 12:45 pm, 1:45 pm. 4:30 pm and 5:30 pm

What we thought about Brick-or-Treat Monster Party with kids:
We had a great afternoon and evening at Brick-or-Treat. I like that this even offers a wide variety of things to do. I also love how they add a Halloween element to the rides like Disco Drago Coaster and the Monster Party Carousel in Fun Town. Kids are invited to get dressed up, but since it was hot with scattered showers the day we went, we opted out of costumes for this one.
If you are looking for a fun day out with the kids, Brick-or-Treat is it!
