Creatures of the Night at ZooTampa at Lowry Park

A Pirate's Halloween on The Lost Pearl

This October, set sail aboard The Lost Pearl Pirate Ship for a Halloween adventure! The 1.5-hour Halloween pirate cruise blends spooky fun with swashbuckling excitement. Costumes are encouraged for kids AND adults. Activities include Halloween and Pirate Games: Pumpkin Toss, Water Cannon Battles, Mummy Wrap, Spooky Dance Party, and Captain Patchy’s Pumpkin Patch.

Haunted River Tours with Pirate Water Taxi

Join Pirate Water Taxi’s crew for an entertaining evening with tales of ghosts along the Hillsborough River. Each tour will be led by a dead-lightful docent who will tell eerie stories of Tampa’s past.  This tour is PG-13 this year since the Lost Pearl is sailing once again and offering the Pirate's Halloween Cruise! Celebrate Fall at Ananda Farm in Terra Ciea

Ananda Farm is one of our favorite family-friendly farms in the Tampa Bay Area, where kids can roam and PLAY on incredible attractions like a huge tree house, while adults enjoy a farm-to-table menu, live music, and more. They will also have U-Pick flowers, and kids' activities including pumpkin decorating, hay bale play, face painting, and arts & crafts!

Watermelon Swim’s Annual Fall Festival & Pumpkin Patch 

  • Pumpkin Patch: October 4-31, 2026, at Lutz, South Tampa, Riverview, Wesley Chapel, and Brooksville locations

Get ready for pumpkin season in Tampa Bay! Watermelon Swim’s annual Pumpkin Patch opens on October 4, offering a variety of perfect pumpkins at five locations. Lutz and South Tampa have large outdoor patches, while Wesley Chapel, Brooksville, and Riverview offer cozy indoor setups.

Each location boasts charming fall photo spots for your family to capture the spirit. A portion of the proceeds benefits their swim programs, including the swimmers with disabilities program. 

The Watermelon Swim Fall Festival will be celebrated on October 19, from 4 pm to 7pm at the Lutz and South Tampa locations. This free event will feature trick-or-treating, photo ops, games, prizes, and more!

MOSI’s Spooktacular Science

Step right up! This event at MOSI delivers a thrilling night of science and spooky fun for the whole family! Spark your curiosity with hands-on experiments, carnival magic, photo booths, food, drinks, and planetarium shows!

9th Annual Trick or Treat on the Riverwalk in Tampa and Lighted Boat Parade

  • Date: October 24, 2026, from 4 pm-9 pm
  • Cost: FREE
  • Location: Downtown Tampa Riverwalk

Trick-or-treating on the Riverwalk is back. This is a FREE community event! Children in costume and their families are invited to come and trick-or-treat along the Riverwalk, as well as enjoy fun activities. There will be more than 50 treat stations participating along the Riverwalk, starting at Water Works Park and ending at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park.

AdventHealth Center Ice Hallowrink Themed Skate

Nightmare on Franklin Street “Mummy & Me” series at the Tampa Theatre

The Tampa Theatre’s Nightmare of Franklin Street returns this month, featuring classic horror movies for spooky date nights, but for a family-friendly day out, there’s the “Mummy & Me” series featuring kid classics like “Hocus Pocus!” Here’s the “Mummy & Me” lineup: Oct. 4 at 1:45 p.m.: Kiki’s Delivery Service (1989), Oct. 5 at 1:30 p.m.: The Haunted Mansion (2023), Oct. 19 at 1:30 p.m.: Scooby-Doo (2002), and Oct. 25 at 3 p.m.: Hocus Pocus (1993).

The Theater is also offering ghost tours, which are great for tweens and teens!

Harvest Holler Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch in Polk City

  • Dates: Opening in September, 2026
  • Location: 950 Tavares Rd., Polk City, FL 33868 – about 30 min east of Tampa

It’s an easy ride from Tampa – just about a half hour east on I-4 – and suddenly you’re at Farmer Jerry and his family’s Harvest Holler Farm.  Come out for a fun fall tradition and stroll the fields of this year’s corn maze and pumpkin patch at Harvest Holler Farm, a working family farm! You can explore the pumpkin patch, go on a hayride, enjoy some country eats, meet live farm animals, and more! There’s also a cow train, corn hole, and many more activities.

Gallagher's Pumpkin Patch and Christmas Trees

  • Location: 7401 4th St N, St. Petersburg, FL 33702

Located in St. Pete for more than 30 years, this family-owned business is the perfect spot to capture super cute photos of you and your significant other while you select the best of the ‘patch'! Before you leave, be sure you snap a photo in front of the popular vintage pickup truck and pumpkin wall.

HarvestMoon Farm Pumpkin Patch

  • Dates: September 26-November 8, 2026, select days

You’ll want to pre-purchase a ticket online to secure your spot to navigate the 5-acre corn maze, explore the many attractions like a cow train, pedal cars, a jumping pillow, and barnyard games. There’s also a petting farm and tree house. Bring some extra cash in case the little ones decide they want to participate in gem mining or even pick out their own pumpkins in the pumpkin patch! They even host a Haunted Nights Nights event.

Kerby’s Nursery Pumpkin Patch in Seffner

  • Dates: Kicks off September 26, 2026
  • Location: 2311 S. Parsons Avenue, Seffner
  • Cost: $47 per person, tickets are required

Kerby’s Nursery has a variety of beautiful pumpkins to select from including Cinderella, gladiator, jack-be-little, and more! Enjoy a scarecrow treasure hunt and free decorating seminars. While you’re there, be sure to snap a photo in front of the pumpkin wall!

Fox Squirrel Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch

  • Dates: Saturdays and Sundays, September 26-October 26, 2026, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
  • Location: 6151 Varn Road, Plant City
  • Cost: $15 per person

This annual pumpkin patch and corn maze in Plant City, about 20 minutes from downtown Tampa, features a corn maze, live music, duck races, fall games, a pumpkin patch, butterfly garden (additional charge) and more. Bring cash for the on site vendors as many don't accept card payments.

Ways to Savor: Make it a complete date day by pairing up your visit with a stop at Keel Farms, which is a short 15-minute drive from the maze.

Sweet fields Farm Fall Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch

Tickets to this farm's annual festival include a variety of family and date-friendly activities, including an intricate corn maze, pumpkin patch, hayride, and more. Plan a cute pumpkin patch date night! Please note, no pets are allowed.

DK Festival Farm Pumpkin Patch

  • Date: Opening in October, 2026. Open daily.
  • Location: 1750 Lake Ave SE, Largo, FL 33771

Explore and pick up a pumpkin at their patch, take a hayride, and enjoy the great fall decorations or hang with some new friends at the petting zoo. There’s a ton more to do and lots of fun for the whole family. They also have capybaras to meet!

Visit Keel Farms every Saturday and Sunday in October for Harvest Days! From 10am to 3pm, enjoy family-friendly, festive fun with hay rides, a corn maze, pumpkin patch and painting, camel rides, seasonal wines and ciders, a pumpkin pie eating contest, local vendors and food trucks, and more. No tickets are required.

  • Dates: October 4-November 1, 2026, on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 am-5 pm
  • Location: 8005 Racetrack Rd., Tampa, FL 33635
  • Cost: $15 admission, $1 parking

Bring the family out for a day of fun while supporting a non-profit animal sanctuary right outside the Westchase area. The festival includes pony, train, and hayrides, as well as farm animals. Fall games and bonfire, which includes marshmallows. Proceeds go to the animal rescue and sanctuary.

Horsepower For Kids Fall Festival

Annual Brooksville Pumpkin Patch

  • Dates: October 10-11, 17-18, 24-25, 2026
  • Location: 475 North Avenue West, Brooksville
  • Cost: FREE admission and free parking

The Brooksville farm is a real-life pumpkin patch and has hundreds, if not thousands of pumpkins–to choose from! The farm says most of their pumpkin deliveries are a few days off the vine, so they should last you through the holiday…and maybe even grab some cute ones for decor for Thanksgiving. They also have food vendors, produce, a petting zoo, tortoise experience, and more.

35th Annual Hunsader Farms Pumpkin Patch Festival

  • Dates: October 10-11, 17-18,24-25, 2026, from 9 am-5 pm

  • Location: 5500 C.R. 675, Bradenton, FL 34211

  • Cost: $15 for ages 11+, children under 10 are free. $5 for parking (cash only)

Make the drive south of Tampa Bay to experience the 35th annual Pumpkin Patch Festival on select weekends in October. There will be hayrides, a petting zoo, games, a pumpkin patch, and more! The main attraction is the corn maze, which is an additional $2 per person. Make sure to bring cash for other cool activities like a children’s train ride, Butterfly Experience, zip line, and more!

Florida Botanical Garden's Pumpkin Fest

  • Date: Saturday, October 24, 2026, 10 am
  • Location: Florida Botanical Gardens
  • Cost: Free

Join the Florida Botanical Gardens for a pumpkin patch, pumpkin carving, and other spooky activities like the 4-H Scarecrow contest, Pumpkin painting, Build your own slime, Bat Book reading, pumpkin decoupage, food trucks, and more!

Pumpkin Patch Express (Florida Railroad Museum) 

  • Dates: October 17-18, 24-25, 2026, various times
  • Location: 12210 83rd St., East Parrish
  • Cost: $35 per adult

The Florida Railroad Museum is calling “all aboard” for a neat train experience as you embark on the Pumpkin Patch Express to a field full of pumpkins to pick, as well as kid-friendly activities on your 2-hour journey.

Children are invited to pick their own pumpkin to take home. Everyone is also invited to participate in other crafts and activities.

2026 Fall and Halloween Events To Be Announced

Hyde Park Village Pumpkin Patch

Come pick out the perfect pumpkin at Hyde Park Village as it turns into a pumpkin-filled wonderland! Proceeds benefit the Humane Society of Tampa Bay and Feeding Tampa Bay. 

Shimmering Lights Fall Festival

This is a unique way to celebrate the fall season on the farm! Sun Kisses Acres is teaming up with Nights of Shimmering Lights to create a 1/3 mile walk-through trail featuring beautiful lights, music, games, hay rides, pumpkin patches, a foam play area on select nights, and more! The light trail is not-so-scary and suitable for kids of all ages!  *The walking trail is not suitable or accessible for wheelchairs or strollers.

Explore Tampa’s 19th-century living history museum by night! Along the way, meet storytellers who will spin wild yarns about a few of Florida’s unexplained oddities. A little scary, a little funny, and always family-friendly, the Tall Tales tour is a Florida history adventure by lantern light. Recommended for ages 6+.

Tampa Bay History Center’s A Night at the Museum

Guppyween at The Florida Aquarium

Dress in your Halloween best and head to the Aquarium for Guppyween! Kids in costume get free admission with a paid adult–this offer is redeemable at the ticket window. There will be a trick-or-treating trail, costume parade, character appearances, costumed divers, underwater pumpkin carving, and more! A sensory-friendly event is scheduled for Sunday, October 26, at 8 am.

Halloween Spookquarium at Clearwater Marine Aquarium

Have the kiddos dress up in their Halloween best and head to CMA for a day of spooky fun at the aquarium! CMA will be decorated for the holiday to add to the fun. Kids can take part in the themed crafts, interactive games, watch an underwater pumpkin carving, and even go trick-or-treating!

Día de los Muertos with Xochi

The season doesn’t stop at Halloween! Celebrate the Aquarium’s first-ever Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) with their new axolotl costumed character, Xochi, who will be specially dressed for the holiday!

Discover Xochi’s traditions from her home in Mexico City while wandering through the Aquarium. Families can honor loved ones, craft colorful sugar skulls, and enjoy festive fun surrounded by vibrant décor. Guests can also enjoy an exclusive menu in Café 71 including a Short Rib Tamale and Apple and Fruit Compote Tamales.

It’s not officially fall until you’ve visited this pumpkin patch in October! Spooky Train Rides and Scary Trail at the Concourse in Shady Hills

This adorable family-friendly activity is a Halloween must, where you can go for a 15-minute spooky ride on a mini train, explore two haunted trails and a maze, check out the petting zoo, jump on the bounce houses, and so much more!

Scarecrow Festival at the Pioneer Florida Museum

Take part in fall games and activities as a family at Pioneer Florida Museum and Village in Dade City. Paint a pumpkin from the pumpkin patch, make a scarecrow, visit the petting zoo, take a pony ride, pose for a photo with a scarecrow, touch a truck, get your face painted, go on carnival rides and more!  No pets, coolers, food, or beverages allowed.

Pumpkin Carving Workshop in Largo

Gals & Ghouls get into the spooky spirit and join us for a frightfully fun pumpkin carving workshop! Each family will receive one pumpkin to carve.  Staff will be lurking nearby to offer tips, tricks, and inspiration for your pumpkin masterpiece!

Trick-or-Treat on the Riverwalk in Tampa

Bring the whole family to Riverwalk Trick or Treat for a spooktacular evening of safe, family-friendly Halloween fun along Tampa’s beautiful waterfront! This free community event, hosted by Friends of the Riverwalk, is one of Tampa’s favorite Halloween traditions you won’t want to miss!

8th Annual Spooky Stroll with TRIBE Seminole Heights

St. Pete Fall Festival

Celebrate the season at the St. Pete Fall Fest, a family-friendly festival that transforms the waterfront into an autumn wonderland, complete with a pumpkin patch, live music, local vendors, seasonal food and drinks, fall-themed photo ops, and festive décor!

This year’s Fall Fest features the epic Drone Show originally planned for the St. Pete Pier’s 5-Year Anniversary Celebration. Don’t miss this breathtaking nighttime spectacle as 1000 synchronized drones light up the sky over Tampa Bay!
