SNEAK PEEK: Peak Surf Park Coming to Tampa Bay as soon as 2027

Love the beach but miss the waves of the east coast of Florida? Don’t fret. You’ll soon get to experience the waves in Tampa Bay with the opening of the area’s first surf park in 2027 if all goes as planned.

The owner of Peak Surf Park says he has entered a deal with the Two Rivers development in Pasco County, where he plans to build the 35-acre surf park. The master-planned development is in the Wesley Chapel area off of SR 56, between Morris Bridge Road and US 301.

So, how do you bring surfable waves to a lagoon? The water park will use a patented wave technology to offer surfers of all ages and skill levels by Australia-based Surf Lakes.

Plans call for a surf lagoon featuring a half mile of pristine beaches,  concert and event venues, restaurants and retail, a fitness and wellness center, and more.

There are still a lot of things that need to happen before the surf park becomes a reality. The owner, Tony Miller, has launched a crowdfunding campaign to help fund pre-construction and will eventually launch a secondary campaign for retailers.

“Beyond my longtime passion for surfing, it has been my goal to create a truly unique,
unparalleled guest experience in the Tampa Bay area,” said Miller.  “This project will continue to have a number of moving parts to get from concept to conclusion, but I look forward to delivering Peak Surf Park as a destination for those seeking waves, adventure, entertainment or their ’third’ place for community and lifestyle.”
