Giving Back to Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital During the Holidays
There is an outpour of generosity from the Greater Tampa Bay area at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital during the holiday season. Hospital staff are grateful for the selflessness of the community because it makes a huge difference in the lives of patients and families who feel the love and support during this often difficult time of year for them. For those interested in ways to donate, below are two opportunities to spread cheer.
First Annual Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital Toy Donation Day
On Saturday, December 3, the hospital will host a one-day, drive-through donation drop-off event at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, 501 6th Avenue South in St. Petersburg, FL. The experience will include a 15-minute curbside drop off time slot where volunteer elves will empty the vehicles of the donated items. Signage and volunteers will direct Donation Day traffic. For individuals who would like to donate toys/items, the hospital kindly requests you schedule your donation drop off here.

All Kids’ Wonderland Sponsorship Opportunities
One of the biggest events during December is the hospital’s annual All Kids’ Wonderland. On Saturday, Dec. 10 and Sunday, Dec. 11 this year, the Department of Patient and Family Centered Care will host this free “shopping” event for an estimated 250+ families, including our inpatient parents/caregivers as well as families identified by our Social Work department who demonstrate a need to participate.
The goal is to remove some additional stress from families who are already facing numerous challenges with a hospitalized child as they also try to celebrate their holiday traditions.
The Outpatient Care Center is transformed to become an environment where families can embrace normalcy and feel the joys of the holiday season without being far from their loved ones who are receiving care. Gifts for all different age groups are on display so that each family will have an opportunity to “shop” for toys and gift wrap essentials.
We have seen families become overwhelmed with tears of joy because they are so thankful. It is very moving to see how much happiness this brings to our patients. It is why we keep bringing All Kids Wonderland back each year.
Individuals or businesses interested in sponsorship opportunities can contact achcorpengagement@jhmi.edu or call 727-767-4199.
Gifts Are Needed and Appreciated Year-Round
All throughout the year, the Department of Patient and Family Centered Care helps to support patients and families as they cope with illness, injury, treatment and hospitalization. While the holiday season is the busiest time of year for donations, the hospital accepts and needs them around the clock.
