ZooTampa to Host Month-Long ‘Red, White and Zoo’ Celebration Honoring America’s 250th Anniversary

ZooTampa at Lowry Park will commemorate the United States' 250th birthday with a month-long “Red, White and Zoo” celebration in July. The event will feature special themed animal enrichment activities, patriotic merchandise, festive food and beverages, giveaways and more!

ZooTampa Celebrates America 250 This 4th of July

On “America Mondays” and “Freedom Fridays” guests can enjoy the animals participating in patriotic-themed animal enrichment activities that promote their physical and mental well-being.

From frozen treats to toys, the activities showcase the animal’s natural behaviors and stimulate their environment. Additionally, the first 250 guests on “America Mondays” will receive a complimentary “Red, White and Zoo” animal themed commemorative bookmark, featuring a different design each week.

On “Stars & Stripes” Saturdays and Sundays, guests can enjoy delicious themed food, including red, white, and blue dot cakes, all-American BBQ family deals, and specialty drinks like the star-spangled lemonade. Plus, all month long, guests can grab unique patriotic gear at the Zoo’s retail locations.

“The Red, White and Zoo event is a great way for us to celebrate America’s 250th birthday and give back to the people who make our nation, county and city special,” said CEO Joe Couceiro.

ZooTampa Park Discounts for 4th of July

In honor of local and national heroes, ZooTampa is also offering complimentary admission to Hillsborough County government employees, City of Tampa team members, Hillsborough County School teachers, and active-duty military personnel through September.
