Take Mom out for Mother’s Day Brunch

Mother’s Day and brunch seem to go hand in hand. and for those of you ready to brave brunch with the kids, there are so many delicious options in Tampa Bay. Here are some of our top picks:

  • Yacht Starship in Tampa and Clearwater: Yacht Star Ship is offering a Mother’s Day Brunch and Dinner on May 12. Set sail on a relaxing for a two-hour cruise in downtown Tampa or Clearwater while enjoying a buffet, DJ, and more. Prices vary by location. yachtstarship.com
  • Maestro’s at The Straz: Enjoy a delicious brunch with the family at the beautiful Straz Center and then maybe end it with tickets to the ballet to see Giselle by Next Generation Ballet® (show at 2 pm) or walk along the Riverwalk.   • Breakfast at Tiffany’s inspired brunch at Clearwater Marine Aquarium: Moms can indulge in live music and capture memories at a Tiffany-inspired photo booth and then stay and explore the aquarium. The event is on Mother’s Day from 10 am-12 pm. Tickets are $80 for adults and $55 for children. Go pick flowers with Mom on Mother’s Day weekend!

Springtime is primetime for u-pick flowers in Tampa Bay and some of our favorite farms are Sweetfields Farm and Harvest Moon Fun Farm, both north of Tampa in Masayrktown. Not only do they have u-pick flowers, but plenty of farm activities for the kids and yummy snacks. You will need tickets to attend the events.

Another idea is to book a flower bouquet-building workshop with Mom! There are several on schedule this week in Tampa Bay.

It could also be fun to take Mom to a U-pick farm where you can pick peaches, berries, greens, and MORE right now!

  • Florida Aquarium: Mom’s ticket is free with the purchase of a child’s ticket on Mother’s Day weekend, May 11-12. Since you saved on her admission, consider upgrading her to walk underwater with SeaTREK! There were spots open on May 12 when we last checked!
  • Clearwater Marine Aquarium: Take Mom for a visit with the dolphins! Clearwater Marine Aquarium is offering moms a 50% discount on admission on Mother’s Day.
  • The James Museum in St. Pete: Moms get in free with the purchase of one other ticket. This special is only available in person at the admissions desk on Mother’s Day.
  • Bay Rocket and Pirate Water Taxi in Tampa: Go for a thrilling ride on the bay on the 2,800-horsepower Bay Rocket jet boat or try something more relaxing like a tour on Pirate Water Taxi. Moms ride free with a paid ticket.
  • Tampa Museum of Art: Moms of all kinds get in free on Mother’s Day and receive a 10% discount at the Harrod Family Museum Store.

Celebrate at the Busch Gardens Food & Wine Festival:

Take mom on a culinary journey around the world as part of Busch Garden’s Food & Wine Festival! And then, she can belt out “Free Bird” and “Sweet Home Alabama” with Lynyrd Skynyrd which is slated to play on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 12 at 6 pm!

Do you really want to go all out? Consider an upgrade to VIP seating for the concert and maybe even start the day with an animal experience like the Serengeti Safari which is a team favorite over here! You can also plan to arrive early and treat Mom to the Mother’s Day Brunch at Busch Gardens which is being hosted from 10 am-3 pm.

 

Picnic at Pops in the Park with the Florida Orchestra

Grab a blanket and pack a picnic basket for a relaxing evening of Pops in the Park at Julian B Lane Riverfront Park in Tampa on Sunday, May 12 at 7:45 pm. You’ll enjoy the sounds of film scores from Jurassic Park, Star Trek, Frozen, and more. Take a class together!

There are so many ways to learn and get creative with Mom! We love the idea of a cooking class at Sur La Tab, a flower arranging class, or even a chance to pour your own custom-scented candles at The Candle Pour.

But, one class that caught our attention is relatively new in Tampa and a great way to get cheesy with Mom! Cheeseology in Ybor City offers a variety of cheese-making classes. They also have a cute class where you and the kids can make cheese and pizza together. cheeseology.net

 

Go WILD with Mom at ZooTampa

This is a great weekend to explore ZooTampa with Mom because there are so many new things to experience if you haven’t been in awhile. You can also upgrade your day by purchasing a Signature Animal Ecnoutner for this weekend or even a day coming soon. We LOVE the new Stingray Shores In-Water Stingray Encounter! It’s a perfect way to cool off on a hot Florida summer morning.

You can also go see the NEW Australia Realm where the kids can cool off in the new splash pad and mom can enjoy a cool cocktail or mocktail at the new bar.

 

Mother’s Day Pop-Up at Water Street in Tampa

if you haven’t had the chance to see all that’s new at Water Street in Tampa, this is a great weekend to go! There will be a special Mother’s Day Pop-Up Shop on Sunday, May 12 where you can shop local vendors and artisans, listen to live music, shop the local stores like Yura Vine Bros and Hampton Chocolate Company. Explore the Second Sunday Mother’s Day Market + Art Walk in Tampa

Head to Armature Works in Tampa for this indoor shopping experience where you and Mom can shop local merchants and artisanal makers and then explore the Art Walk under the awning outside. The Second Sunday Mother’s Day-themed event runs on Sunday, May 12 from 11 am-3 pm.

 

Mother’s Day Weekend at Raprager Family Farms in Odessa

Celebrate Mom with a fun day out on Raprager Family Farm where you can enjoy farm activities, a petting zoo, a 2,000-square-foot foot fort, and so much more!
