ZooTampa to host first-ever Manatee Conservation Celebration on May 2

ZooTampa is inviting you and the kids to join them to celebrate the iconic sea cows during its first-ever Manatee Conservation Celebration on May 2, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. It's among our weekend top picks in Tampa Bay that weekend!

You'll get the chance to take part in behind-the-scenes tours of the Zoo's new Mantee Rescue and the world-renowned David A. Straz, Jr. Manatee Critical Care Center, meet people from organizations that are dedciated ot saving manatees, and more.

There will also be live artists, interactive presentations, local artists and vendors, live music, giveaways, kid-friendly activities, and a community art station. A mock manatee release is also on schedule!

It will be a day filled with fun while learning about this incredible species. It's also a great opportunity to explore the new Florida Waters realm, which recently debuted at ZooTampa as part of its largest expansion to date.

The Manatee Conservation Celebration is included with general admission, Zoo Fun Ticket, and memberships.
