Glazer Children’s Museum
110 W. Gasparilla Plaza, Tampa
There are some amazing hands-on exhibits kids love including the UnMonsters exhibit by BayCare where kids can be the doctor, a veterinarian’s office, and a STEM area. There’s also a Publix that’s just their size where they can shop just like mom and dad, a theater for littles to put on a play, and an engineer’s workshop. You can also check out the World’s Largest Triceratops, Big John! There are three floors total with the first two mostly in use for daily play.
Great Explorations
1925 4th St. N, St. Pete
Great Explorations Children’s Museum is located right next to Sunken Gardens. Stay and play at the many exhibits and you just might bump into the museum’s mascot, Morris! Pretend to be a dentist, become a LEGO builder, learn about life on the farm, or become a news anchor!
Tampa Bay History Center
801 Water St., Tampa
The Tampa Bay History Center is a great place for all ages! Head to the third floor for the Pirates, Conquistadors and Shipwrecks exhibit has hands-on activities they can manipulate with their hands like tying knots. The second floor also has a giant-sized train table that is inspired by the Port of Tampa.
Florida Aquarium

The Florida Aquarium is a great spot to stay cool on hot days or stay out of the rain. This is a truly magical place for little ones and older kids as they come face to face with sea creatures like sea turtles and even sharks! Don’t miss the new exhibit MORPH’D which features incredible creatures including axolotls.

Tampa’s Museum of Science & Industry (MOSI) has many favorites for all of your STEAM interests from the Bed of Nails, Cargo, Loading, the Hurricane Machine, IdeaZone, Mission Moon Base, Dinovations, and to Slippery Science, the Tampa Bay Lightning themed and sponsored exhibit at this incredible kids’ museum. The Dali Museum
1 Dali Blvd, St. Pete
Want to explore the famous work of Salvador Dali? The Dali Museum offers a free event called DillyDally with Dali which takes place on Saturdays at the museum and online and teaches children about Dali’s creative world through arts and crafts, games, and puzzles. There are kids’ activities in The Dali’s education room that are inspired by their exhibits. Right now, you can see the temporary Impressionist exhibit featuring works by Renoir, Degas, Matisse, Monet, and more.
Tampa Museum of Art
120 W Gasparilla Plaza, Tampa
If you’re looking for something to do on a Saturday morning, drop by The Tampa Museum of Art for a program called Art Spot, a free drop-in program that lets children make art projects inspired by works of art on display in the galleries. There is a different facilitator-guided project each week designed by art instructors. The museum also holds several Family Days each year with activities inspired by the museum’s current exhibitions. On Family Days, you can enjoy drop-in docent-led tours, pay-as-you-will admission to the galleries, and more.
Tampa Firefighters Museum
720 E Zack Street
This FREE museum is a must-visit with the kids, especially if they are into fire trucks. The Tampa Firefighters Museum is located inside one of downtown’s original firehouses and inside, you’ll find old fire trucks and learn about how firefighters have protected our city over the years. There is a children’s area as well where they can try on fire gear, climb through a ‘smoke’ filled hallway, and explore a kitchen area where they can learn about fire hazards.
St. Petersburg Museum of History
335 2nd Avenue NE, St. Pete
The St. Petersburg Museum of History located on the downtown waterfront has the largest collection of baseballs of its kind certified by Guinness World Records. The Schrader’s Little Cooperstown exhibit has nearly 5,000 baseballs. You’ll find stories and artifacts from baseball legends like Babe Ruth, Jackie Robinson, “Shoeless” Joe Jackson, and Joe DiMaggio and learn about more than 100 years of Tampa Bay’s own history as a spring training destination.
The James Museum of Western and Wildlife Art in St. Pete

The museum itself is a work of art, but don’t stop at the front door and make your way inside to see more than 400 pieces of artwork that connect you to the American West. You’ll see jewelry, sculptures and paintings on display through the exhibits. The museum is also very kid-friendly, with James Playdates for littles and Family Days on schedule throughout the year.
Fairgrounds St. Pete

Fairgrounds St. Pete is an immersive art experience with more than 70 artists featured. You can go and simply enjoy the whimsical art that celebrates weird, wacky, wonderful Florida or choose a different adventure and try to crack the codes and mysteries you’ll find throughout. While you’re there, let the kids explore this unique immersive art exhibit that puts all of your senses to work. It’s truly something you’ve never seen or experienced before!
American Museum of Arts and Crafts in St. Pete

Here’s a pretty cool fact: The American Museum of Arts and Crafts is the only museum dedicated to the arts and crafts movement in the WORLD. The museum is huge, standing at 4 stories tall and covering 137,000 square feet. You’ll walk through the history of the arts and crafts movement and see beautiful creations of today as well. The museum will also host Family Day events, so be sure to check their calendar for the next one.
Florida Children’s Museum in Lakeland

The Florida Children’s Museum, formerly the Explorations V Children’s Museum at its previous location, is a brand new, 47,800 square-foot building located in the NEW Bonnet Springs Park. It’s geared for kids up to age 12 featuring two floors of interactive learning fun including a Publix exhibit, stop motion exhibit, and so much more! Indoor Ice-Skating and Roller-Skating Rinks
AdventHealth Center Ice

AdventHealth Center Ice is the largest ice sports facility in the Southeast! With over 150,000 square feet, their five-rink complex includes three North American standard National Hockey League (NHL) ice rinks, one Olympic/International standard ice rink, and one mini-rink. They have a variety of programs that suit all ages from ice hockey and figure skating to curling and private events.
Tampa Bay Skating Academy

TBSA has two locations in the Tampa Bay area. Both offer learn-to-skate classes, figure skating, camps, and public skating. It’s also a cool place for a birthday party or special event!
TGH Ice Plex

TGH Ice Plex is the official training facility of the Tampa Bay Lightning! They offer hockey lessons, learn to skate, figure skating, camps, and more. You can also rent skates and swirl around their rink during their public skate sessions.

Skate World features a Roller Cafe full of family favorites. Skaters can participate in theme days along with live DJs, a fully stocked cafe, and a huge arcade with awesome prizes.
United Skates of America
